I'm up late blogging because it was a busy day. What's funny is the thing that took a big chunk out of my afternoon. I didn't have any coins in my test account in Firecracker Fight, but I needed to retest the damage effects of our biggest firecrackers, the M-80s and cherry bombs. So I had to earn them just like players will, by hitting crit streaks.
It's hard. But I earned 50 M-80s and three cherry bombs, and snagged this nice hit with one of them. It also gave me a lot of other informative play testing. As a result I decided to make some changes to the stats of these larger explosives. Big changes.
Basically I decided if I wasn't excited by the effect of these bombs, neither would my players. Look at that video outtake. It's satisfying to take out a tank in one hit, when it usually needs five or six standard firecrackers. But I really think any trucks nearby should be blown out of the grass too. I worked hard for that bad boy, and I want my money's worth.
So the M-80 blast radius will be double its current size, and damage will change from 40 to 100 so it can destroy a Level 1 Tank on direct hit. The Cherry Bomb radius will mushroom to half the screen height, so if you place it in the middle it will cover every target on the screen. Damage likewise will change from 200 to 500 to destroy practically everything.
If you feel like you can handle that kind of power, remember to subscribe, so you'll be sure to hear when Firecracker Fight is live on the App Store and Google Play!
