It took some work and revisions but I'm really happy about Chad, especially Sad Chad. The way I described it in design review was "How about if we get the sad face even closer to tears. This 'tough' guy is mean because he is so emotionally fragile. He’s a bully, but he’s a baby inside." I think we've got it, you agree?
I think they're worth a closer look. "Challenger" is probably the first view you'll get of him in the game. He gets all up in your porch and says if you were as good at firecrackers as people say, you wouldn't be afraid of his supercharged army of replica military equipment, straight from today's battlefields.
Until you get as good as your reputation, you'll probably see a lot of this guy happy. The scathing commentary that goes along with this particular mood probably deserves the kind of replies you only think of over Toasty-Os the next morning. Or a near miss from a cherry bomb. Is that a bullseye on his shirt?
Finally though, you can have the satisfaction of beating one of Chad's hard levels, and hear him simper some excuses through -- wait, can those be tears?
No! I didn't think so!
