If you just want to record your screen, that's fairly easy with iOS 11.
That may be all you need. But if, like me, you want to provide some riveting narration, there's another setting. And if you want to share the recording on Facebook, one more obstacle after that, because either Facebook or iOS happily drops your voiceover when you share. When I ran into that there was no workaround, so I found one myself.
First, getting narration turned on is a basic but hidden feature:
I found I can share that recording to YouTube, but it has that little problem of the silent treatment on Facebook. The solution is to record and narrate my screen recording with the mic on, then turn the mic off and do a screen recording of the playback of my recording. Here are the complete steps:
