First, if you don't think too much and just rapid fire your basic firecrackers, you'll wear this bad guy down. The tank takes about 30 seconds to cross the screen. It starts firing its main gun after nine seconds, and does another 30 hit points every six seconds after. This of course is subject to change as well during balancing, so don't publish your cheat guides yet. Anyway, your 100 hit points won't last long at that rate. But rapid fire finished this tank before it got in that critical third shot:
And since it's the last target in the level, as soon as it's gone I win.
For comparison, I know the top hatch is its weakness so I aimed for it. This time you can see what's possible with a little accuracy.
See something right at the beginning of the clip? The enemy does squeeze off a shot, so I was down 30 hit points. But accuracy means you can save yourself at least half damage. With practice, or by investing in our Mastery Training passes within the game, you could probably line up your shot as soon as those heavy treads hit the grass, and deprive your enemy even the satisfaction of a single point of damage.
My conclusion is the difficulty is about what I expected. There's still plenty of work to make sure each level plays at the right difficulty, and the challenge progression between levels also flows nicely. But we're getting there.
