The most significant feature in the weekly development build is rapid fire. So in this week's video update, I talk about the importance of being able to throw lots of lit firecrackers in a hurry!
You can see in the video, the game will work like you'd expect if you were a master of tossing lit firecrackers with your bare hands. You can light one, throw it where it needs to go, then on to the next one. And that's important for gameplay at the theoretical level, because sure, accuracy will be valuable, but you also have to be able to just cut loose and blow a lot of stuff up in a hurry.
This supports, for you game dev nerds, the key concept of choice. This is the unsurprising idea that the player should have more than one way to resolve a challenge. More, it implies that the choices we give you are meaningful, and there isn't always one correct answer.
Rapid Fire is the easy way in to playing Firecracker Fight. Once you learn to throw at all, you should quickly discover how to throw quickly. Later you will find out that more carefully placed shots do more damage and help you survive longer. But that's the essence of choice in a carefully designed play space!
Let's put that video in the page so you don't have to chase it down on YouTube.
As always, if this looks like a game you'll want to try for free as soon as it's available, remember to subscribe to the email list, where you’ll get our Weekly Roundup, and early warning when the game is live on the App Store and Google Play!
